ADF 2006.01

Since version 2004.01, the installation on Windows systems has been greatly simplified. You just need to execute the downloaded setup file and it will install ADF in the directory of your choice using Windows Installer and update all the necessary environment variables. See the instructions for downloading ADF on our download page.

You must have ADMINISTRATOR privileges to install ADF on Windows 2000/XP!

Important: You must obtain a license file before you can use ADF programs. In case of a trial version, a trial demo license file is already attached to the mail in which you receive the necessary information to download our software. In other cases SCM needs some information necessary to create a license file. This is generated automatically by the installer and saved in the %ADFHOME%\licinfo.txt file. It is also displayed using your default text editor so you can easily copy/paste the information in an e-mail message and sent it to license@scm.com. After you have obtained the license, save it in the %ADFHOME%\license.txt file, here %ADFHOME% is the folder where you installed ADF.

When the GUI license becomes invalid for whatever reason the same information will be displayed if you attempt running any of the GUI modules. Please note that only the GUI licenses are checked this way. To obtain this information for ADF itself you can do the following:

Click on the Start menu and select Run, type (on Windows 2000/XP):

 cmd /k %ADFBIN%\adf.3.exe 

 command /c %ADFBIN%\adf.3.exe 

Open your favorite e-mail program and paste contents of the clipboard into a new e-mail. Send the e-mail to license@scm.com. Remember to also include in the e-mail information about the research group you are requesting the license for.

The SCMLICENSE environment variable is set by default to %ADFHOME%/license.txt, therefore after receiving the license file you should save it in that location.
