Platform Specific Information

The following table displays the platforms, compilers and PVM or MPI versions that we have used to prepare the executables and object libraries.
Other versions (especially older ones) are not guaranteed to work with this release of the ADF package. Please contact us (support@scm.com) if you have problems with your platform.

If you have the Source files and intend to compile the codes yourself, the installation procedure will also use a few object files that we have precompiled for you (these are contained in the Install files). Therefore, your compiler must match the one we've been using.

Machine-specific comments

• Windows: the Windows version has been prepared under Windows 2000.
  Some tests were done to test that it works on Windows 98 and Windows NT.
  No tests have yet been done for Windows XP, Windows 95, or Windows ME,
  so no guarantees can be given for those platforms, although we expect ADF to work.
  It is currently not possible to compile the Windows version from the source code.
• PC Linux: the PC Linux version should work on Pentium III, Pentium IV, Intel Xeon, AMD Athlon,
  and compatible hardware.
  It will not work on older hardware such as Pentium II and Pentium Pro machines.
  The version was built and tested with Redhat 7.2, but is expected to work for all other popular
  Linux distributions as well, with the same Linux kernel or a more recent one.
