WATOC's Dirac medal to Dr. Visscher

Congratulations go to Dr. Lucas Visscher (Vrije Universiteit, Amsterdam), who has been awarded the 2006 Dirac Medal by the World Association of Theoretical and Computational Chemists (WATOC).

The Dirac Medal is annually awarded to an "outstanding computational chemist in the world under the age of 40" and Dr. Visscher received the 2006 medal "for his outstanding achievements in relativistic quantum chemistry".

In 2004, Prof. Ziegler (University of Calgary) had been awarded the WATOC Schroedinger Medal "for the outstanding computational chemist in the world who has not previously been awarded this honor". The medal was awarded to him "for outstanding applications of density functional theory, especially to organometallic chemistry".
