This is a very generic error, which simply indicates that one
of the processes terminated unexpectedly. In order to diagnoze
the problem, you should save the standard output of the kid
process, and examine that. The easiest way of achieving the
latter, is to edit the adfs script in $ADFBIN directory, and
replace /dev/null in one of the final lines by an absolute
path name.

Once you have outputs of both the master, and the kid, somebody
might be able to come with a better idea of what is going on.
