If the program dies after printing the "technical parameters" header, but
before doing anything else, try increasing the stack size limit to at least
32 megabytes. If you are using C-shell or derivatives, 'unlimit stack'. For
Bourne shell and the ilk, the incantation is 'ulimit -s 32768'.
