Dear all,

>From our experience in Amsterdam, I can say the following:

Pentiums and AMD Athlon machine both give good performance for ADF,
especially if price/performance is considered. They should outperform
old IBM machines.

Pentium III and AMD Athlons are currently about equally fast for ADF if they
have the same clock speed.

In general the ADF performance follows reasonably well the numbers from
the SPECFP benchmarks. These numbers therefore offer some support in
deciding which types of machines are most suitable for ADF.
