Dear all,
Please could you bring this to the attention of any interested parties.
Thanks,
John McGrady
BBSRC funded postdoctoral position in computational bioinorganic
chemistry.
Applications are invited for a post-doctoral position in the
computational inorganic chemistry group at the University of York,
working on applications of density functional theory in bioinorganic
chemistry. The specific project aims to explore relationships between
structure and activity in metal clusters that model aspects of
biological nitrogen fixation.
The current research post, funded by the BBSRC, is initially available
for one year, with the possibility of extension for an additional year
subject to mutual agreement. The post is available from 1st August 2001.
Candidates should have, or be about to obtain, a Ph.D. in computational
inorganic chemistry. Experience with the ADF and/or Gaussian packages is
desirable, and some expertise with hybrid quantum/molecular mechanics
would be an advantage.
The starting salary will be £18731 per annum (spine point 6 on the
academic scale). Initial enquiries should be made to Dr. John McGrady on
+44 (0)1904 434539, email jem15_at_york.ac.uk,
http://www.york.ac.uk/depts/chem/staff/jem.html.
The closing date for applications is 30th June 2001.
