Since I do not see anybody from SCM jumping in, I feel
compelled to clarify this.

In the current version of ADF, the -only- parts, which
are not supplied in the source-code form, are those
dealing with the code licensing. Or, if you care to put
it in the complementary form, and shout a little:

  ALL SCIENCE-RELATED CODE IS AVAILABLE FOR INSPECTION

You are also free to change it, if you need (or just
feel like it). It used to be, that a portion of the
numerical integration code was also supplied in the
form of object modules only - but this is no longer
the case (and haven't been the case for at least three
years).

It is certainly regrettable, that some parts of ADF are
not available in the source code form - and I certainly
-did- feel aggravated by that fact, more than once. On
the other hand, this does not usually interfere with
science per se ...
