To clarify the discussion:
1. ADF uses fortran90 features more and more. To my knowledge this is
not supported with f77. Thus it is no option. If f95 will be working
someday that might be a good alternative. The Intel compiler might
work someday (currently it causes many problems with the make script
we have to look at).
2. Some parts of the adf source are indeed not public.
At this point in time this has only to do with license control, not with
any other aspect of the code.
However, if new features are implemented which have not been published yet,
the source for those features might also be unavailable for some time
as requested by the authors of that part of the source.
