A Post-doctoral/Research Associate positions is available in theoretical
modeling of olefin polymerization catalysts
The successful candidates will be involved in
- studies of chemical reactions of commercial interest sponsored by
industrial partners. All the work will be publishable after a delay period of
six months. The studies will give the applicant a chance to learn the newest
computational tools and develop work experience with industrial based
computational chemistry

Requirements: PhD in theoretical chemistry or computational physics.
Demonstrated experience in the development and implementation
of electronic structure codes as well as experience with
chemical modeling. However, applicants with a strong record
in the use of quantum mechanical methods to the study of
catalysis will also be considered, although they have little
prior
experience with program development. Good communication skills
in conjunction with a strong command of the English language is
required .
Particulars: The position is for one year with the possible extension for
3 years. The salary is $ 35 ,000 (CDN). A higher salary might be
available for
persons with special qualifications
The position will be available from January 1, 2002.
Scholarships The successful candidate will further be able to apply for
scholarships from
the "Alberta Ingenuity fund " for more details see

dead-lines are February 1. The scholarships are worth $ 40,000
(CDN) + $ 10,000 research allowance.
