ADF will run fine in parallel on SMP machines using PVM.

The essential point is that ADF needs to know it is a SMP machine. You
do this by creating a nodeinfo file (in $ADFBIN). In this file you
list for each node in the PVM virtual machine how many CPUs are
available on that node. The names in nodeinfo should match the names
displayed in the PVM console using the conf command.

Of course you also need to start pvm, and set NSCM or specify the -n
flag on invocation of the adf script.
