An EPSRC-funded Studentship is available to work with Dr. Stuart
Macgregor at the Department of Chemistry, Heriot-Watt Univerity,
Edinburgh, UK. The project will be in the area of applied
computational chemistry and will focus on the activation of
unstrained C-C bonds by ruthenium complexes featuring N-Heterocyclic
carbene ligands.

The computational studies will be carried out in collaboration with
Dr. Mike Whittlesey at the University of Bath, where parallel
experimental work will be undertaken.

The post is available from October 2002 for 3 years
