Dear Georg,

I would like to stress that there is some danger in comparing
ADF2003.01 timings
for these platforms because:

1) We may switch to the Intel Fortran compiler as soon as it is stable
enough for
a correct execution of all our test calculations. This compiler
has been shown to
give much better performance for ADF on Xeon than the current
version.
(Differences of a factor of two have been observed.)
We do have some timings available for ADF2003.01 on 4-CPU and 8-CPU
2.4 GHz Xeon machines from PQS (who pre-install ADF). I will send
these to you separately.

2) We do not yet have an optimized version for Opteron. The present
executables
should run correctly, but probably the performance could be
improved. As we
currently do not have such a machine available, it is not likely
that an optimized
Opteron version for ADF will appear in the very near future.

Best regards,
Stan
