as an addition to the ongoing discussion about ADF's performance on
various platforms we would like to add that according to our test runs
reduction of the vectorlength parameter from its default (128) to
something between 48 (old K-75) and 56 (Athlon and Athlon XP w/256 K
level 2 cache) results in 5-20 % faster execution. This may be different
on newer (Barton, 512 K cache) hardware.
