Hi!
I run adf in a dual Xeon Linux box smp.
I am trying to use pvm to run parallel jobs. I can
start the pvm daemon and add my box (gusxeon4), even
twice if I use also localhost. I quit the pvm console
and then run my adf job, similar to the examples with
-n4. The job runs fine.
However, in the output I see that when adf echoes the
input it states that it wants 4 processors. But in the
output section labeled "P A R A L L E L" only one
processor is listed. The jobs are small example runs.
When I query the jobs under the pvm console it looks
like pvm has not picked up the job.
The environment variables (under bash) are set
NSCM=4
ADFHOME=/usr/local/adfhome
ADFBIN=/usr/local/adfhome/bin
SCMLICENSE=/usr/local/adfhome/license
SCM_USETMPDIR=yes
SCM_TMPDIR=/home/gamercier/temp
PVM_ROOT=/usr/lib/pvm3
PVM_PATH=/home/gamercier/bin:/usr/lib/pvm3/bin/LINUX
PVM_ARCH=LINUX
PVM_RSH=/usr/bin/ssh
PVM_TMP=/home/gamercier/temp
shmmax is set to 128MB. The machine has 2G of RAM.
I see that there is an option for to spawn a pvm
script, but I am not clear how to implement this
feature. As of now, I manually start and halt pvm
before submitting the adf job from the bash shell.
Any suggestions as to what is going wrong?
Thanks!
