SCM Forums
We have set up the SCM Forums for users of the ADF and BAND software.
This will make it easier for users of the software to exchange ideas
and get tips from each other. SCM employees may also use the forums
to help users and make announcements. The SCM Forums will replace the
ADF-LIST.
To visit the SCM Forums: http://www.scm.com/forums
The following forums have been created:
- User Discussions (Announcements, ADF, BAND)
The Announcements forum is intended for information about meetings,
job openings, announcements from SCM, etc. This includes
announcements from users, not only from SCM. The ADF and BAND forums
are for user discussions about ADF (and ADF-GUI) and BAND.
- Support (General, ADF, BAND, GUI)
The support forums have been created to give public support to users.
If you have a support question, post it in the appropriate
subcategory (General, ADF, BAND, GUI). An SCM employee will respond
to this on the forum. The support information (both questions and
answers) is available for all users to see and search.
If you prefer private support, mail your support request to
support_at_scm.com. Responses to such requests will be made by email,
and not on the forum.
Registration
You may register with the forums. This will enable you to post,
exchange messages, and keep track of unread messages.
To register, click on the 'Register' link at the top of the forums
page. Reading is always possible, you do not need to register if you
just want to browse through the forums.
Digests
Once you have registered, you can also set up to receive new postings
to selected forums by email in digest format. This email can be
formatted either as HTML or as plain text. The HTML version looks
much better, so we advise you to use that if your email reader
supports HTML. To set up digests, click on the 'Digests' link at the
top of the forums page AFTER logging in.
RSS feed
Linked to the Forum we have created an RSS feed. If you have a reader
for RSS feeds you can use it to be alerted of new postings.
The RSS feed: feed://www.scm.com/forums/rss.php
On a Macintosh, when using Safari, just click on the RSS icon in the
address bar when visiting the forum to get the RSS feed.
On Microsoft Windows you need to use an RSS reader, or an RSS enabled
browser (such as Firefox).
ADF-LIST
Our intention is that the SCM Forums will replace the ADF-LIST. From
now on, new user can not register with the ADF-LIST any more.
Postings to the SCM Forums will be forwarded as digests to the ADF-
LIST, so all existing ADF-LIST subscribers will receive them.
The ADF-LIST will also be closed for postings. If a current
subscriber wishes to respond to a posting he receives via the ADF-
LIST, he needs to register with the SCM Forums and respond using the
forums.
We advise current ADF-LIST subscribers to register with the SCM
Forums. Next, if they wish they can set up to receive digests of
selected forums. To stop receiving the digests via the ADF-LIST,
remove yourself from the ADF-LIST.
The ADF-LIST archive will remain in place as it is (http://
www.scm.com/adflist/summary.html).
Regards,
Olivier
