SCM Workshops in England: 14-16 February 2011
In February 2011 Dr. Stan van Gisbergen and Dr. Matt Kundrat of SCM will be touring the south of England, giving talks and holding ADF workshops at several locations. In addition to our visits to private industry, we will be present at several universities. The university events, which are open to the public, are listed below:
Our first stop will be the University of Cambridge on Monday the 14th of February. We will give a talk from 16:00 to 17:00 in the Unilever Lecture Theater of the Department of Chemistry, located at Lensfield Road, Cambridge CB2 1EW.
On the following day, Tuesday February 15, we will hold a workshop at the University of Oxford. The seminars, to be held at the Oxford e-Research Centre (OeRC), will be from 14:00 to 16:00. The address is 7 Keble Road, Oxford OX1 3QG.
Our tour concludes on Wednesday, February 16 at University College London. The lecture there will be from 15:00 to 17:00 in Graham Laboratory located in the chemistry building at 20 Gordon Street, London WC1H 0AJ (a few blocks south of Euston Station).
The sessions will begin with an overview talk of the ADF program (with an emphasis on recent developments), followed by a talk on the features of our other programs (BAND, COSMO-RS, ReaxFF) and ongoing “Approximate DFT for nanoscale” EU project. These will be followed by a brief demonstration of some new features of the ADF-GUI, then an extensive question and answer session. All lectures are open to the public. If you are in the greater London area and are interested in ADF or density functional theory modeling in general, feel free to stop by.
