Counting processor cores
Price depends on number of processor cores
The price of the license depends on the number of processor cores on
which you want to run the software.
All processor cores within a node are counted, so a dual-core
dual-CPU machine counts as four. Two single-CPU single-core machines and one
single-CPU dual-core machine together also counts as four. Both situations
require an A4 license.
ADF and ADF-BAND are two different products. For each of
them you select the number of processor cores to use. Thus,
they may run on different machines, or using a different number of processor cores.
For our standard host-locked licenses all processor cores in a machine are counted.
It is not possible to order a single-core license for a dual-core or dual-CPU machine.
For floating or mixed floating/host-locked licenses each "floating processor core" counts
as equivalent to two host-locked processor cores. The price of an "A4F" (floating) license
is the same as that of an "A8" (host-locked) license.
