Source code addition

The price for the source code addition depends on the maximum number of [host-locked or floating] processor cores for ADF or BAND. The source code addition price is independent of whether ADF, BAND or both are ordered.

It is not possible to purchase a source code license without the ADF or BAND binaries. The source code is only sold in addition to those binaries.

Certain confidential parts of ADF and BAND are not provided in source code form, only in object format. This includes code that relates to license file checking and code which academic ADF / BAND developers do not want to make publicly visible yet. This affects a limited percentage of the total source code.

The source code is not required to execute the programs. The binaries that SCM provides are sufficient for that. The source code is of interest to learn about the details of the implementation, to add your own additions to ADF, or to recompile ADF with other settings, or other libraries (e.g. MPI or BLAS).

In cases where the source code is needed to make the programs work correctly, SCM will provide the source code extension free of charge for the sole purpose of recompiling our binaries.
