SCM wishes to promote the use of ADF in chemistry teaching at the bachelor and master levels. We offer classroom licenses that are considerably cheaper (discounts above 50%) than the standard licenses.

License types and conditions

The limitation is that the license may be used for teaching purposes only, not for research. We intend to offer licenses for 10, 20, or unlimited student desktop / laptop machines (usually Windows or Mac). As for normal licenses, we differentiate between teaching done by a single research group or by multiple research groups (site license). The machines may be single-core or multi-core desktop machines. All licenses include ADF and the ADF-GUI on all licensed machines. For a 25% additional fee, BAND and BAND-GUI can be included as well.

Depending on the level of the course, and the amount of experience of the students, a course could make use of:

• The ADF-GUI tutorials
• Standard ADF examples
• Exercises used in Prof. Ziegler's group for their computational chemistry class
• Examples (including advanced ones) used during 2008 ADF workshop in Barcelona
